XB has decent customisation across all the apps I have tested. You can select the colour of the background, timer, buttons, and general appearance. You can also change the call to action, choose when the sticky bar appears, and define how it looks on a mobile phone. You can customise the mobile and desktop versions separately.

The separate mobile controls are particularly useful. A sticky cart that looks fine on a desktop can occupy far too much space on a phone. Being able to simplify or adjust the mobile layout makes more sense than simply shrinking the desktop version.

There are also several templates available, so you do not have to design the bar from scratch. For my test, I would recommend matching the button colour, font, and spacing to your existing Shopify theme, then checking whether it still looks native rather than like an external pop-up.

Countdown Timer and Urgency Features

As I explained above, I do not see value in adding an empty countdown timer that does nothing. If you put too many urgency timers everywhere, all the time, your store can lose credibility. Shoppers may start to see the urgency as artificial rather than useful.

I would suggest turning off the countdown timer in the sticky bar design settings unless it is connected to a genuine offer or deadline.

If you want a straightforward sticky Add To Cart solution without another monthly fee, XB is an easy app to try first. I would simply avoid using the countdown timer unless it is tied to a real, time-limited promotion.
